Dear Friends,
I have heard from many of you how important OETA is to our state. OETA is the most watched public broadcasting service in the country and is utilized as Oklahoma’s emergency communication system. Clearly, it is of great value to our state. You spoke, and the State House members listened!
Today the State House voted to override the Governor’s veto on HB2820, a standard bill that is passed every three years which allows OETA to continue operations. While it isn’t at the finish line, this is a great first step in keeping OETA in our state.
Today we showed what it means to serve all Oklahomans by passing this with a bi-partisan majority. House District 70 gladly voted to keep this crucial service for our state.
The bill will now head to the senate, so please reach out to your Senators and ask them to maintain the treasured OETA and vote to override the Governor’s veto.
Thank you for your calls, texts, and emails on this issue – as always I greatly appreciate your feedback and continued support.
Let’s keep going –
Suzanne
