4.28.2024 – A Legislative Update with State Rep Suzanne Schreiber

Friends, I hope everyone is faring well after last night’s storm. The massive damage in Sulphur makes me so sad – I love that area and Sulphur is just such a great Oklahoma town. If you’ve been to the Chickasaw National Recreation Area, you know something of the beauty and history there.  Plus The Poor Girls Cafe has the best  biscuits you’ve ever had in your life. Truly my heart goes out to that community and all the other communities who probably feel overwhelmed today and have recovery and rebuilding ahead of them. In my role as a legislator and

Friends, Politics are in full swing at the Oklahoma Capitol with filibuster antics and power struggles galore. The standoffs bring to mind the Will Rogers joke,  “One Senator threatened to read the Bible into the record as part of his speech, and I guess he would have done it if somebody in the Capitol had had a Bible.” Well, the Bible still hasn’t been found and things are definitely gummed up at the Capitol. Dear Constituent,  Happy New Year! If we have not met yet, I’m Suzanne Schreiber, your State Representative. I was elected in 2022 and have served one year of my two-year term. 10.5.2023 Stay In The Loop – A Legislative Update with State Representative Suzanne Schreiber

Friends, Well, we aren’t as speakerless as Washington, DC but we do have our own dysfunction here in Oklahoma.  In this Stay in the Loop, I share a little on the recent special session (i.e. the dysfunction) and other recent and upcoming happenings. Special Session  As you probably know, the Governor called the legislature in for a special session to address tax cuts that would put Oklahoma on the path to zero income taxes as well as transparency in government budgeting.  You can watch the Governor’s press conference that was held prior to the legislature convening Monday.  An important fact that is
